Mary McCann

Mary McCann is a psychologist who has been in her own private psychotherapy practice for more than thirty years. She has also worked as consulting and counseling psychologist at the primary, secondary and college levels. Mary lives just outside of Portland with her husband Pete Thaxter and their dog Boon. Mary and Pete have four grown children and eight grandchildren. A writer and visual artist, Mary is completing a book entitled Secrets of a Wounded Healer. An enthusiastic supporter of the fund since its inception, Mary (affectionately known as Goldie) is excited to be reengaged with the Kerry Fund Board after an 8-year hiatus. She has seen the mission and purpose of this organization expand to include a multi-year commitment to
underserved youth in Boston and Rwanda. She writes I believe the impact of this organization to change lives and catalyze the growth and potential of young people – people to people- face to face in person – across cultures is needed now more than ever. This board is comprised of an extraordinary, committed group of individuals. I am honored to serve beside them.
